“Twas the night before Christmas and all through the house, not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse.” In December when the weather is cold, and daylight fades early, the streets assume a particular holiday stillness. I call it a holiday stillness because nighttime in December includes homes lit up with lights and bay windows looking into living rooms all decked out with Christmas trees and knick knacks and presents. I always look forward to coming home at the end of the...

Have you ever seen those billboards advertising homes in the suburbs that proclaim “You Could Be Home?” Those words crossed through my mind several times today as I walked up and down the French Quarter. When I made up my mind to go to the French Quarter for the Satchmo Festival, I knew that getting down there was part of the experience. Getting to the French Quarter is actually an easier process now that I live in Louisiana. I know what it is like to set out on a wint...

Did the Saints really win the Superbowl? I am still in shock!

Let me start off by saying that I am one of the most die hard Saints fans walking this planet. I can remember the bad days as if it were yesterday. From John Fourcade to Jim Everett then to the new hope of Aaron Brooks. It seems like just yesterday I was sitting with my dad in his car listening to 870 am as the Saints lost yet another game.

On to the Drew Brees and Sean Payton era. In 2006 their was something magical about the Saints, we only missed the Super Bowl by one game. Two years pas...

Cotton Mill Condos are now FHA approved

Great news for the Cotton Mill Condos. In todays market, financing a condo is tough. Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac have tightened their guidelines with respect to condo financing. FHA is a type of loan that helps first time home buyers qualify for their first purchase. Typically condos are not FHA approved (there are some that are) and in order for a buyer to qualify with an FHA loan for a condo would require what is called a "spot approval." Now spot approvals are a things of the past...
