Laplace Homes for sale
Laplace is located where I-55 meets I-10 going into New Orleans. The drive to and from the community is beautiful, for the highway is raised above the swamp, providing a scenic view of coastal waterways and marshes. Early in the morning the sunrise over Laplace is breathtaking, as is the sunset late in the day. Laplace is close to Manchac Swamp, Lake Ponchartrain, and the Bonnet Carre Spillway. Thus it offers a prime location to partake of hunting and fishing experiences in the water.
One of the first aspects about Laplace that one will notice is the beautiful homes here. There are modern homes, raised homes to accommodate the proximity to the marshes, Acadian cottages, and large plantation style homes. At every turn one sees the quality of living in this neighborhood, for here one may find a state of the art home with the advantage of a spacious property.
Part of the St. John Parish School System, Laplace is served by quality educational facilities including John L. Ory Communications Magnet Elementary School, Laplace Elementary School, Lake Ponchartrain Elementary, and East St. John Elementary.
One of the most attractive features of living in South Louisiana is the quality of the food here and Louisiana is known internationally for its Cajun and Creole cuisine. Laplace is known for its anduille sausage, a popular item of Louisiana fare, and hosts the Anduille Festival annually in October. The festival offers residents the chance to celebrate their Louisiana heritage.
